March 2014 - Red HVAC Knob Indicators

When I got my '04 Grand Am, I noticed some of the translucent white line paint GM used for the HVAC knobs was scratched up and it gave me an idea.   GM's intent was at night the drive would see the white line and at night a red glow underneath.    Some people peel away the grey vinyl and have translucent red knobs, but I was not a fan of that.   I used a small nylon bristle wheel on my Dremel at a low speed and removed only the painted indicator line.
I really like how it came out and how it lights up at night.   Simple, quick, easy and not over bearing.
