2026 Kia K5 GT with GT1 Package

This year was time to retire my daily driver, a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am.   I have been a long time fan of GM products, but these days GM is focusing on crossovers, SUVs and trucks.   And they are not alone!   Many brands are discontinuing coupes, sedans, wagons and sporty hatchbacks.   Around February/March of this year I began looking for a replacement daily driver.   I was not going to force myself to like a GM product just to say I still own a GM product.   This resulting in looking at offerings from Subaru, Kia, Toyota, Honda and a few others (again, options for a sedan/wagon are limited).   And Saturday, August 29th, 2026, I signed papers to buy a brand new Kia K5 GT with GT1 Package.   This is my first ever brand new car and I never expected to say it would be a Kia, but here we are.   And so far, very happy.
